Diversified Technique
This is the most common technique practiced by Chiropractors. It is taught at virtually all the major Chiropractic Colleges and is the method of treatment most people associate with the practice of Chiropractic. It utilizes the doctor's hands to perform manual adjustments to correct misaligned or subluxated spinal segments or any other joint misalignments (ex. wrist, ankle, etc). A small, quick thrust is utilized to increase movement in a specific joint and often creates a "clicking" sound as the joint surfaces separate and improved alignment is achieved. The "clicking" or cavitation (the proper technical term) is caused by decreased pressure inside the joint creating a "bubble of gas" which "clicks" as the adjustment is made.
Diversified adjustments can be the quickest, most efficient way to restore normal mechanics to a dysfunctional joint.
